Liv Ivy (she/they) is a multidisciplinary artist based in Portland, Maine, working across photography, movement, and video. They studied photography at Parsons School of Design and worked in the entertainment industry in New York City before returning to Maine. Liv collaborates across fashion, wellness, handmade goods, and luxury products. Their creative practice is expansive, ranging from photographing luxury glassware to modeling for independent knitwear brands. They are available for hire as a photographer, shoot assistant, and model.

This project explores the body in motion—what movement reveals about our connection to ourselves and how it shapes the ways we connect with others.

As my friend @brennagentner describes it:
‘The body, as we experience it—how do we dismantle and re-interpret the body through the sensorial experience of dress by moving within/parallel to the world around us, and in return manifest a haptic awareness through intimacy.’

These images, with their vivid primary colors and moments of closeness, were a prelude to what became Brenna’s fashion project. They capture the intimacy of touch and the expressive power of movement, reflecting on how our bodies and minds communicate through exposure, connection, and motion.

Shot by me, this photoshoot was an experiment to visually explore these ideas and set the stage for Brenna’s design process.
